It Needs To Snow Now....

...the following are reasons why. So my phone works again and I'm finally able to take you all on a virtual tour explaining why Hartwick winter should be dope. Heeeeere we go.

Spot One: The Cliffs Of Calamitous Intent
Location: Right behind my dorm
Pros: -Just look at them, straight up dope.
-I can wake up and session these all day without having to walk ten minutes back to my dorm afterwards.
-I don't do enough cliff dropping and these look perfect.
Cons: -May not get enough coverage to save my sled from getting all busted up.
-Shale isn't the most stable cliff making material.
-Have to choose lines very carefully, some drops don't look that nice.
The Verdict: So what if it's not 100% child friendly, sack up and hit those shits. Chicks dig people who drop cliffs. Not acid though, I imagine trip sitting isn't the most romantic activity.

Spot Two: The Stairway To Nowhere
Location: By the Art Building
Pros: -Its a rail with no sidewalk that's situated on hill, honestly, do I need to spell it out for you?
Cons: -That handrail is a little sketch, kind of rusty and wobbly you know?
-Stairs might suck to land on if they aren't covered up enough.
The Verdict: I found out today that the reason that these stairs are here is because they have perfect acoustics with this amphitheatre down by the building. Fuck that, they were put there for kids like me looking to go jibbing (grinding for those who aren't down with ski lingo). Throw a coat of paint on it and some wax and these look downright awesome.

Spot Three: The Gap Of Incomprehensible Dankness (Working title)
Location: Outside the Commons
Pros: -Do you have eyes? Just look at it, aaaaaaaaaawesome.
-There are hills on both sides, enough for another little kicker after the initial gap. Could allow for some pretty awesome lines.
-Impress maaaaad bitches
Cons: -I'm doubtful that I'll have enough speed to gap it if the right conditions aren't present.
-Might have to keep in on the DL, I'm not sure campus security would approve. That goes with The Rail To Nowhere as well.
The Verdict: I have been looking forward to this spot since I first got here. I will probably cry if it doesn't work the way I think it will. I've dreamed about gaps like this. Not really, but just look at that gap. Take a second and absorb its majesty. Get back to me about that.

That's it for this tour, there are more spots around campus and loads more in the woods. Therefore, if the weather cooperates, I will spend January sculpting, sledding, and hanging out. I couldn't think of anything more perfect. Wait, actually, I can. A beard trimming would be nice too.

Haha, thanks Steve. I can't wait to get some action shots, I need a photographer though. Do you want to take some video next time I'm sledding at home?

Tim, how is it that you are in college and have this much free time?

Julia, it doesn't take a whole lot of time to take camera phone pictures while you walk around campus and edit them with MS Paint. Besides, updating the ol' weblog always takes priority over doing work. Actually, pretty much everything takes priority over doing actual work.
